Obama-Jugend

From the Minneapolis Conservative Examiner: The secrets behind the GIVE Act passed by Congress

Other interesting verbiage from HR 1388 which passed with a 321 to 105 vote:

expand and strengthen service-learning programs through year-round opportunities, including during the summer months, to improve the education of children and youth and to maximize the benefits of national and community service, in order to renew the ethic of civic responsibility and the spirit of community to children and youth throughout the United States

Civilian Community Corps shall be called the “National Civilian Community Corps” [and that is a very interesting and telling change of a single word –Darkman]

the Director determines appropriate “Uniforms”

From the Misc. section, #6104: (6) Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.

Uniforms, nationalism mandatory service for young people.

Let me put this very bluntly:  before you take my children, you will have to kill me.

One Response to “Obama-Jugend”

  1. Oh…they won’t have to “take” your kids…they’ll make it mandatory by tying it to something else.

Sort of like in Starship troopers…you have to serve to be a full citizen. Certain “privileges” will be withheld if you don’t “volunteer”.

And it will start out fairly innocuous. If you don’t “volunteer” you won’t be eligible for any federal student loans or grants.

But, as things like this inevitably go…they’ll start adding “privileges” that will be withheld unless the “volunteer” work is completed.

I could easily see it, over the course of a couple of generations, turning into some sort of ideological litmus test. You’re not granted full citizenship unless you “think proper thoughts” about subjects like, say, Global Warming, income redistribution, gun ownership…

It sounds silly, but that’s how it works. Things that many people just accept as “the way it is” today, things like income tax withholding, Social security Ponzi schemes, taking private property to give to developers, being disallowed from digging a hole (or filling one in), cutting down a tree etc, without getting government permission first ON OUR OWN LAND…, things like that would be unimaginable to people just a few generations ago.

And it all starts with one simply, harmless rule “for the good of society”.

“You do not examine legislation in the light of the benefits it will convey if properly administered, but in the light of the wrongs it would do and the harms it would cause if improperly administered.”
    — Lyndon Johnson

(the source of that quote is a bit ironic, but the sentiment is no less apropos.)
